Hello, Here is the solution to disable Norton 2012 background task or Idle task.
Usually when you watching movies in full screen or playing a game or when computer at no work Norton runs background tasks this idle task hogs the CPU's resources.Please follow the procedure given below to stop Idle task and other tasks in other cases. also I attached screen shot below , please refer that for the same.
1) Open Norton settings
2) click on Computer settings
3) in this section turn off idle time scan or set it to monthly or quarterly according to your requirements.
4) Now click on Miscellaneous settings
5) in this section turn off Idle Time optimizer and similarly turn off "Full screen Detection".
that's it.
